Inside the Program
HPC’s Junior Athlete Program has been specifically designed to meet the needs of your growing superstars; developing key skills and qualities they will use for the rest of their lives whilst helping manage them through the critical stages of growth and maturation to help maximise their athletic potential.
Under the full-time guidance of our experienced coaches, athletes are exposed to a wide range of drills and exercises to improve speed and power, strength, control, and coordination. Our small group athletic sessions provide structure and make sure every athlete is receiving quality coaching and instruction to ensure movement and technique is correct, effective, and safe.
Every athlete coming into the Junior Athlete Program is screened and assessed to ensure a minimum level of independence and competency to ensure they can get the most out of the program. A Pre-Junior Program provides a bridging option for those athletes who require a little extra to get them up to speed. As athletes develop, we can work with you to provide more options to take their training and performance to the next level.

Before you Start
At HPC, the assessment process plays a crucial role in the development of junior athletes. We begin by conducting a comprehensive evaluation to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement, establishing a performance baseline that guides all future training. This baseline allows us to personalise each athlete’s program, ensuring that every aspect of their training is targeted towards their specific goals. We use a variety of tests to assess different elements of athletic performance, including speed, strength, agility, and mobility. These assessments are tailored to the individual’s needs, whether that’s enhancing explosive power, increasing endurance, or addressing imbalances with accessory work.

The assessment process doesn’t stop at the initial evaluation. After each training block, we retest the athlete to track progress and identify areas that need further attention. These follow-up assessments allow us to make necessary adjustments to the program, ensuring it remains challenging and effective. By regularly re-evaluating an athlete’s performance, we can implement new progressions and challenges to keep them progressing.
